Our journey from Nice to Monaco began in style, with a chauffeured limousine winding through the picturesque roads of the French Riviera. As we passed Cap Ferrat and Villefranche-sur-Mer, the coastal scenery was breathtaking - a perfect prelude to the glitz and glamour of Monaco.

Stepping into Monaco, I was struck by its distinct vibe. Despite being the world’s second-smallest country, Monaco truly packs a punch. It’s a compact realm of luxury, where iconic landmarks, high-end boutiques, and Michelin-starred dining come together within just a few square kilometres. The elegance of Monte Carlo’s towering apartments and sleek architecture immediately creates a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Monaco’s allure is as much about its rich culture as it is about its luxury. My time there was filled with pinch-me moments—walking through Casino Square at night, watching supercars parade along the streets, and seeing mega-yachts glide into the harbour. A visit to the Monte Carlo Casino was one of the highlights, where the twinkling chandeliers, grand staircases, and whispers of fortunes won and lost added a sense of mystique to the experience.

Staying at the renowned Hotel de Paris added to the splendour. Room 398, with its elegant stone balcony, offered views of the Opera House, the marina, and the shimmering Mediterranean. Each morning, I savoured my coffee as the sun rose over the sea, soaking in the serene beauty of the moment. The hotel itself felt like stepping back in time, with its luxurious interiors and storied history evident at every turn.

For automotive enthusiasts, the Prince’s Car Collection is a must-visit. It showcases everything from vintage classics to cutting-edge supercars, reflecting Monaco’s deep-rooted passion for the automobile. Meanwhile, the Oceanographic Museum offered a fascinating insight into Monaco’s maritime heritage, with its stunning aquarium, polar exhibits, and rotating displays. The changing of the guard at the Prince’s Palace added a touch of tradition, reminding me of Monaco’s enduring legacy.

Dining in Monaco is a highlight in itself. At the Metropole Hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, the waiters were as much performers as servers—presenting dishes with flair, from the bread trolley to the churning of butter at the table. The dessert trolley was equally spectacular, showcasing a variety of exquisite treats. We also enjoyed a memorable meal at the Pavillon Restaurant at the Hermitage Hotel, where the terrace dining was matched by the fine wine and culinary creations.

Beyond Monaco’s core attractions, there are incredible day trip opportunities along the French Riviera. We explored the medieval village of Èze, perched high above the coast, where narrow streets led to sweeping views and a memorable visit to a perfumery, where I created my own Eau de Toilette. Another favourite was Menton, with its distinctly Italian charm, historic old town, and famous gelato shops—offering a delightful contrast to Monaco’s polished glamour.

To wrap up this luxurious trip, we opted for a helicopter transfer back to Nice Airport. The seven-minute flight provided stunning aerial views of the coast, making it a perfect and hassle-free way to conclude our time in Monaco.
